A few days before the election received an email blast from the Republican Party of Virginia with the heading Countdown To Victory: It Depends On You!. It’s just a few days to Election Day and the people running the party are calling on the rank and file party sympathizers, the grassroots activists, many of whom are tea partiers, to do the work to keep these leaders and their selected candidates in charge and expand there power base.
If only they would exhibit such concern for the little people when it came time for candidate selection or policy formulation, many more would be out knocking on doors, waving signs, working the polls, talking to their neighbors and a whole host of other activities necessary in winning elections.

Federal judge approves temporary injunction on SQ 755

Today a federal judge, Vicki Miles La-Grange who was appointed by President Clinton, approved a temporary 14 day hold on the certification of the overwhelming vote of the citizens of Oklahoma to amend the state's constitution to ban sharia and international law from consideration in state courts.
A hearing is planned for November 22nd at 10 AM where arguments for both sides will be heard.

The People Have Spoken… Barry, Can You Hear Us Now?

It has been an interesting evening watching the election returns and trying to make some sense of them. Political prognosticators are something like economists in that if you would lay them all end to end, they still would not reach a conclusion. It appears that we, in the US, have a double minded electorate.
As this is written there are a few things that we can see. Some are positive and some negative for our country, but nonetheless, this is the world we have to live with for the next two years. While we cannot go back and correct mistakes made this cycle, we can learn from them… and it is essential that we learn from them.

Politico reported today that "Muslims leaders" intended to fight this in court:

The Tea Party Road Map

In the September issue of the “New Guard”, Congressman Paul Ryan mapped out his plan to reclaim the American Idea. As a Tea Party leader it was necessary to respond with an alternative Tea Party Road Map. The most challenging task is to confront our ballooning and unsustainable entitlements and other usurped government spending from State and local governments, commerce, charity and the individual.
Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid grew to an unsustainable level through the legislature’s lack of prudent fiscal responsiveness to increased life spans and political pressures that expanded care under Medicare and Medicaid without regard to the costs. I submit these programs should never have been anything more than minimal fully portable safety net protections executed through private products. The conflict arose when the government decided to run these programs.

What Is Our First Priority?

With the upcoming election, there are several ideas on the best strategy to save our country from a runaway, out of control president and the socialist mob doing his bidding. Many of them have the virtue of logic on their side, but I believe one is the best for our situation today.
Obviously, the Democrats are in power and are inflicting the greatest harm in the shortest possible time our country has ever seen. This has to be stopped! Anger at Republicans who have failed to follow through on their smaller, less intrusive government rhetoric is completely understandable as well. The desire to reject them both and go down the third party route has a great deal of appeal. In some areas, the Libertarians have been able to exert limited influence and the Constitution Party stands for a pretty impressive set of values, yet they have not been able to market them successfully. In some cases, even Independents have been successful, but not frequently.

Why Meddle With The Constitution?

The proposed “Repeal” Constitutional Amendment endorsed by some Tea Party leaders provides that “any provision of law or regulation of the United States may be repealed by . . . the legislatures of two-thirds of the several states . . . .”
I agree with the goal. Washington’s power needs to be curbed. That is why I introduced HB10, the Health Care Freedom Act, which passed the Assembly this year to give Virginia legal standing to challenge Obamacare’s individual insurance mandate.
However, supporters of the Repeal Amendment, including former Gov. George Allen, other Virginia elected officials, Tea Party Federation leaders, and Georgetown Law Professor Randy Barnett need to consider the problems their amendment creates.

A Warning To Voters

It has been brought to BQI’s attention, by readers and participants, that there are already accusations of voter fraud being leveled around the country. Upon doing a simple search engine query, it is clearly seen that from everywhere, even at this stage of the elections, fingers are pointing in every direction and accusations are flying. This is certainly a disappointing, although not unexpected, turn of events. It is also a sad commentary on the mindset of Americans going into this most important midterm election cycle.
It is obvious that people everywhere in America are expressing immense distrust…distrust of the government, distrust of the election process and distrust of the political parties. Our elected officials have let us down, from the office of the president all the way down to city and county officials. They have forgotten that they were elected to represent us, not to rule over us. They have decimated our economy, spat upon our God-given rights and wiped their feet all over our Constitution. It comes as no surprise that voters are hyper-sensitive to voter fraud this time around.

The Election is Just the Beginning

What is politics? When someone runs for office, they tell us they want to work for the good of the people, help make a better life for their constituents, some even say they want to be a Christian influence in they community. Many sincerely believe this. But, what is really going on when someone is elected to office?
Political activity is actually about the use and control of government power – who is in charge and who does what to whom. With the growing destructive power of both the state and national governments, electing reliable people of good will is more important than ever. Just as important is maintaining on going contact with these people who are so quick with the gladhand during the campaign. These politicians may be done with the voters for the time being, at least until the next election, but the voters cannot afford to be done with the politicians.

Over the coming 6 days, you should expect to hear two things. 1. Republicans want to cooperate with Obama. 2. Democrats are on the rise, polls are changing, and the losses will not be as bad as predicted.
Neither statement is true of course, but that does not matter. Desperation among democrats and especially the all out panic in media outlets has led them to fabricate stories designed to demoralize the GOP base, and spin massive losses as a win.
It may be true that some establishment Republicans still don’t understand what is expected of them. That’s fine, the next election is coming. What is happening now can be done again in 2, 4, and 8 years. What has begun in America is not a one election fight. A new generation of patriots is committed to turning this ship of state back toward the Constitution, and we are fully aware that it can not be done in one election cycle.

What is being done to expunge the qur'an of its violent texts? Yesterday, a NYC Muslim was arrested for planning to join the Army so he could be deployed to Iraq. Once there, he would join the jihadis (Taliban) to kill American troops. Abdel Shehadeh, a U.S. citizen, went so far as to try to enlist at the Army recruiting station in Times Square (lest we forget the Muslim who attempted to car bomb Times Square as well, and kill tens of thousands).

Operation Black Storm... Needs Your Help Now!

Today I learned of a web site that supports the campaign of Black Conservatives running for Congressional seats. The candidates are from different areas of the country but one thing, besides being Black conservatives, which they have in common, is the enormous LACK of support that they have received from the GOP establishment. I’m only familiar with a couple, Alan West (Florida), Tim Scott (South Carolina), Stephen Broden (Texas) Star Parker (California) and Chuck Smith (Virginia). I have generally followed these candidates, in part, because some of BQI readers are staunch supporters and made it clear to BQI that they needed support.
Although I can not vouch for all of the candidates seeking office, I do believe that they deserve a good review to determine if they can warrant your support. I have and will personally voice my displeasure over the lack of support that has been given to these candidates by the GOP. This lack of support is disheartening because, at least for the candidates that I know about, they should be receiving strong GOP support. I am further disheartened with the GOP’s position because I happen to know and have written about how Black values align with conservative principles. For this reason, if the GOP was truly interested in reaching out to the Black community, supporting Black conservatives in a big way would certainly be viewed as a big step.

Today I learned of a web site that supports the campaign of Black Conservatives running for Congressional seats. Why Do You Vote?

Is your voting and other public involvement strictly a political effort in a compartmentalized political world… or is there something more to it than that? The politically correct, secularized society we live in would like to have us think that it is. They want us to believe that who we vote for, who we work to get elected and the issues we support come from a separate part of our lives from the our Sunday morning church activities. It’s a form of divide and conquer. If they can separate our political activities from our values, they can get us to do must about anything.
In the unique progressive form of intolerant tolerance, we have people who are perfectly happy to let us have our religious beliefs and practices, as long as it doesn’t interfere with their plans to manipulate and enslave us. Glenn Beck, an American Prophet? Revisited

Those who have been following Glenn Beck’s revelations about our country’s history and the progressives who are trying to turn it into a European paradise have seen enough to know the type and extent of the battle we have before us. He is performing a great public service in opening the eyes of millions of people to the dangers we face today, tomorrow and for years to come. Some still reject him and disparage those who work with him because he is a Mormon. They question his motives as he sells books by the thousands and packs venues for his live programs. However, who else is telling us these things?
His critics often don’t take into account the powerful people he is exposing. Many of these people don’t take it lightly when he tries to thwart their plans to enslave the public and raid the public treasury. Those much younger than myself will not remember the name of Victor Riesel who was blinded as acid was thrown in his face shortly after exposing corruption in the International Union of Operating Engineers. And this is does not take into account investigative reporters who have died by the dozen when they got too close to letting the public know about the scams perpetrated against them.

The Forclosure Nightmare

The foreclosure processing problems that have come to light the last few weeks at Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, and others is very bad news to be sure. The effect on homeowners, the housing market and the broader economy will depend on how quickly the banks, bond holders and the legal system can sort the problem out.
The problems with banks and foreclosure companies signing fraudulent title documents is certainly going to cause a drag on the already slow housing market. Plus, it raises the distinct possibility the improperly handled title documents will eventually cause problems for homeowners who are not behind on their mortgages when they decide to pay off their mortgages or sell their homes. But the fraud associated with the title paperwork not being processed properly is almost quaint compared to larger fraud being perpetrated in the mortgage-bond world.
To understand the fraud, we must first review how Bill and Sally Johnson’s home mortgage becomes part of a mutual fund in Aunt Betty’s retirement account.

Oh happy day

Rush Limbaugh recently played a song on his radio talk show to remind us that there was a time of innocence. The song had made the top ten on America's Billboard list and remained there for many months. Edwin Hawkins was a pianist at Ephesian Church of God in Christ in California when he came up with the popular version of "Oh Happy Day" in 1968.
Back then, America embraced its Judeo-Christian heritage. Look at where we are now. Because too many of us have looked the other way, "progressives" have taken the lead with our families and youth. They've stolen our country from under our noses. It's time to put a stop to them.
I am not going to mince words. It was not a good day when President Barack Obama was sworn into office. With help from the media, he was able to get away with many lies about who he was. Nearly two years later, we now know the reason for the subterfuge. He has been extremely busy remaking America and turning our country into a Marx-inspired shambles.

Tearing Down the Tower of Babel

In the past, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said, “Multikulti, we are now living side by side and are happy about it.” She was echoing the politically correct mantra we have been hearing for decades. The idea that a common culture and language is not necessary for a smooth functioning society is a fantasy that academic idealists have been pushing for years. This thinking derives from the teachings that there are no absolutes, that all cultures and all values are moral equivalents and that those who believe one way is the answer, such as we poor deluded Christians would contend, were just plain wrong. This seems to be an absolute position in itself.
That was in the past. Having lived with the results of this philosophy, the lady showed a higher degree of perception than most world leaders when she addressed some younger members of her Christian Democratic Union (CDU), telling them that the much hyped and worshiped multiculturalism was an utter failure. She saw that pockets of people living by totally different values, work ethics and abilities did not fit in well with the solid, precise and productive German way of life. The problem was not so much that the newcomers looked different and spoke other languages, the problem was that they had no intention of integrating into the host country’s system, but instead, expected the Germans to bend to their demands and accept such idiosyncrasies as sharia law.

So if this is all about my action, why not have me on to explain my position and the the ISNA links to Hamas? The presentation of the entire action was fabricated out of whole cloth.

Is America A Ticking Time Bomb? If So... How Much Time Is Left?

I, like a good number of Americans have an uneasy feeling about our personal state, the country and the world. It’s the sort of thing that is difficult to put your finger on; it’s a gut feeling that you sometime get which says something is just not right and that something pretty bad is about to happen.
A recent poll showed that an increasing number of Americans no longer believe that the American dream is achievable for them. This is an empirical data point that pretty much supports the general uneasiness that I feel and that I think exists throughout the country. The problem is that it’s one thing to have this sense of foreboding but it is something entirely different when you really want to know the cause for the general uneasiness. With all of the issues confronting the country, I think it is important for us to understand what is causing this general feeling of anxiety. Let’s examine.

The example set in what she actually did had the greater impact on my own choices and behavior. I have otherwise heard it aptly put, “Your actions speak so loud, I cannot hear what you are saying.” In the current political climate heading into the 2010 mid-term elections, the usual siege of campaign rhetoric, promises and smears are no different; these mere, empty, last minute words cannot undo 20 months of choices and behavior, and therefore, no longer have enough depth to hold air let alone our trust.
The polarizing issues of the 2008 Presidential Elections began disturbing the slumber of the politically apathetic. Unfortunately, as often goes with apathy, the awakening comes a day late and a dollar short, now racing from the disadvantage of the back of the field. It’s like “The Frog in the Kettle” analogy: toss a frog into boiling water, it will immediately jump out, but, put the frog in tepid water and slowly turn up the heat, it will boil alive because it won’t even feel it.

These Are Not Negotiable

In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies.”
I would argue that we, like our patriot forebears, have also endured “patient sufferance.” For at least a half-century, we have patiently endured the erosion and abridgment of our freedoms and liberties. We have watched the federal government become an overbearing and meddlesome Nanny State that pokes its nose and sticks its fingers in virtually everything we do. We cannot drive a car, buy a gun, or even flush a toilet without Big Brother’s permission. We are taxed, regulated, and snooped-on from the time we are born to the day we die. And then after we are dead, we are taxed again.

I would argue that we, like our patriot forebears, have also endured “patient sufferance.” For at least a half-century, we have patiently endured the erosion and abridgment of our freedoms and liberties. We have watched the federal government become an overbearing and meddlesome Nanny State that pokes its nose and sticks its fingers in virtually everything we do. SQ 755: A yes vote bans sharia law in Oklahoma!

Liberals in Oklahoma and their Islamist partners, like CAIR Oklahoma, often call those of us who are in favor of SQ 755, which is an amendment to ban sharia and international law from being considered in our states courts, bigots, fear-mongers, paranoid schizophrenics, "born-again" bigots, intolerant, hateful, anti-Islamic, McCarthy-like, xenophobics, Islamophobics and, of course, anti-Muslim. Their verbal smear tactics are nothing but red flags waving widely in our faces. Do you feel all that hot air trying to seal your mouth shut? Let's fact it, being able to explain one's objections against this measure in an intelligent, logical and meaningful ways without casting dispersions on others is the right way to defend a position. I'm thinking when Oklahomans are called these names over SQ 755, it will increase the votes for it.
Is Sharia law in Oklahoma a potential problem down the road? Well, isn't Sharia law expanding worldwide? Isn't the struggle and wars of our lifetime to protect our democracy and freedoms from Islamism (political Islam) which is aided by their global terrorist minions who make the highest sacrifice for their religion on a daily basis? Well, isn't it? The ultimate goal of these religious jerks is Islamic supremacy. Islamists are in America. They are in Oklahoma. They want the same religious supremacy end as terrorists do but differ dramatically in their tactics. This struggle will likely continue through our lifetime and our children's and possibly their children's if we don't get a handle on this and start dealing in some reality here and not languish in the stupid PC correctness of the left. Most importantly, we don't know how this struggle will end, do we? Considering all this, SQ 755 is a reasonable safeguard.

Moderation in Pursuit of Prosperity

I recently came across someone who was proudly proclaiming himself to be a “moderate”. He went on and on about the extremists on either side. He thought the correct answer should be somewhere in the middle. He appears to be the type of guy who would suggest you split a restaurant bill proportionally, even though he got the prime rib and you got the hamburger. In fact, taking a strong position on almost anything was a foreign concept to him. He believes there is always room for compromise.
I wonder about people like him. If someone were to break into his home and try to kidnap his children, would this “moderate” seek to negotiate with his attacker to only take one of his children? I would hope that there was still enough of a man inside that shell to answer a resounding “NO!”, then beat the intruders into submission or chase them off, or possibly perforate them, with the handgun the constitution guarantees us the right to possess.
